Twilight: Love, Drama and Teenagers
I saw Twilight this afternoon with Tina. She forced me to watch this movie because I clearly didn’t want to watch a movie for teenage girls dreaming of their dream guys (vampires). The moment Edward entered the screen, every girl in Shangri-la Cineplex was swooning. Yes, it was lame.
So, what do I really think about the movie?
1) Too much drama - Love and forever? Yes, I know it’s...
Indispensable
I felt sick Thursday and went home early. I decided not to go to work Friday but didn’t notify the company coz I might come in late - until my boss called at 9am to check on me.
I slept through the afternoon and woke up at around 4:30pm when I decided to go online in Yahoo! Messenger. A minute later my boss calls me up and updates me on the latest on what’s happening as I check my...

Awesome Breakfast Drink
Saw this on one of Nigella’s cooking shows as she prepared breakfast. Really good drink to start your day. =)
1 L Orange Juice, unsweetened 1 L Pink Grapefruit Juice, unsweetened 1 pc Lemon Grenadine Syrup
Mix the first two ingredients together then squeeze out all of the juice from the lemon. Add grenadine syrup to desired taste. That’s it!
Very healthy with lots of fiber...
I love living in Makati because...
1. Salcedo Saturday market is a block away.
Good food is never far.
2. I don’t wake up early.
3. I don’t need to commute.
No waiting for bus rides nor cramming into buses.
4. A secluded Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branch is only 2 blocks away.
Great place to work with plus it has Airborne Access.
I hate living in Makati because...
1. Everything is so close that you have to walk.
I walked from Landmark to my condo behind Cititower carrying approximately 6 kilos of groceries. I think I just went to the gym.
2. My boss calls me up in the morning asking me why I’m not in the office at 10am.
Yes, 10am is late. But still…
3. I run into the extended family of my ex more often.
Saturday Salcedo Market
I heard that there’s a lot of great foodie finds here so I had Tina come over early in the morning. Here’s a breakdown of what we bought.
Coffee for Two: 130 Fresh Piaya: 24 Spanish Chorizo: 180 Potato Gratin: 175 Pepperoni Calzone: 150 Strawberry Yogurt Popsicle: 35 Hakaw: 70 Apple Crumble: 175
Total: PHP 939
Expensive way to start the day.
Windfall Lunch
I stopped rating websites for a company because it took so long for them to pay me and the time I spent rating was too time consuming. This noon I found out that the backpayments have arrived in my savings account. A windfall deserves a windfall lunch.
To celebrate I bought a Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese panini from Seattle’s Best Coffee and some Raspberry Iced Tea. Flavorful and light...

Michael Arrington of TechCrunch on why Jerry Yang should go. This guy keeps on putting the blame on everyone else except Yahoo!. Like on Microsoft for backing out because they couldn’t reach a compromise on the share prices and Google for backing out because of antitrust concerns. By being so emotionally vested (he is a co-founder), he is hindering shareholder value and company growth....

James Bond: Quantum of Solace rocks! Brutal non-stop action that’s fast-paced will leave you breathless!
I must say the camera work and the execution of each action scene was terrific. All of the angles of the action scene was filmed to perfection. The movie only slows down for about 5-8 minutes for some lovemaking and some talking. It also showcases some cutting edge technology with a...
My Teaching Demo
I’m due to teach in DLSU next term (3rd term SY 2008-2009) the subject Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIZINTL).
Three of my former professors were there to evaluate me along with a student representative. Present were Ms. Mavic Pineda, Mr. Oliver Malabanan (our thesis adviser) and Mr. Sherwin Ona.
It started out well and lasted approximately 10 minutes. Their only comment was that I...

Lesson 28: Wine Tastes Better with Food
Here are five easy rules to prevent you from making a mess of your meal. 1) Match flavor intensity. Generally speaking, light-bodied wines (Pinot Noir and Gamay for reds, and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc for whites) pair well with lighter foods, fuller-bodied wines (Shiraz) with richer, heartier dishes. 2) Spicy likes sweet or sparkling. Hot or spicy dishes—such as curries and Thai food—work...
