I've Never Liked Team Sports
It’s 3am, raining hella hard and I’m up going through the thoughts in my head. This is one of realizations that I have come to realize of early on but have never written about.
I’ve never liked team sports.
Team sports like basketball and soccer never appealed to me. At a young age the sports I were fascinated with were tennis, bowling and table tennis.
What do those three...
Game Plan for the Next 8 Years
It’s almost 2009 and I’m outlining what my game plan is for the next 8 years of my existence. It largely covers my career.
2 years - This is one of my early life goals: total independence. Varying degrees of change will happen but will be extremely self-fulfilling and will strengthen my ability to work on my own.
Work to gain more experience working with mid-large sized companies....

Small Town Dreams
I had a get together with my high school friends last night (I’m back home in Bacolod). There were about 30 of us present. 90% of us come from the star class section which barely changed in composition. We’ve been together for the last 10-11 years from elementary through high school which makes us pretty well-knit.
About 90% of us chose to stay in Bacolod because they knew that life...
Switching Mac OS's Painless
My dad was running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger when I had to upgrade him to the new Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. It was surprisingly very fast and easy. The main folder I had to copy was his user folder. Of course there were some applications but that was it. I got him back up and running in about 4 hours.
Macs makes life so much easier. =)
Underground City: Deep Down into Derinkuyu →
dailymeh:
Awesome. Alan Weisman:
No one knows how many underground cities lie beneath Cappadocia. Eight have been discovered, and many smaller villages, but there are doubtless more. The biggest, Derinkuyu, wasn’t discovered until 1965, when a resident cleaning the back wall of his cave house broke through a wall and discovered behind it a room that he’d never seen, which led to still another,...
Twilight is coming to Philippine TV
OMFG! More cheeziness on Pinoy TV!
ryanyam:
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, ABS-CBN decides to remake “Twilight” for the Filipino audience.
“Rayver Cruz will star as Edward Cullen and Shaina Magdayao as Isabella Swan in the local television version “Twilight.” The rights to the hit vampire novel has been bought by ABS-CBN has bought for more than US$1 million with Ignite...
Exorbitant Excess Baggage Rates
I flew Cebu Pacific to Bacolod recently and the excess baggage rates are bordering on the extreme. They charge PHP 100 per kg excess of 15kg. But I’m not really complaining because I don’t bring a lot of stuff home.
However, there are some people who as well border on extreme in terms of bringing their stuff. I was lining up in front of 3 people who had 7 large bags. The type that you...

Of course! And I’m happy I don’t have a Facebook account. =)

Why? What do you use it for? Is it like a very public, very serious and professional Facebook?
How I Turn Down People I Don't Personally Know on...
I’m fairly active on the professional social network, LinkedIn. I get invites frequently from people I don’t know willing to connect. I do not even know why they invite me given the kind of network and experience they have. From time to time I purge my network of inactive and non-personal contacts. I mean, they did invite me to explore opportunities but after a year of nothing,...

Belgian Bliss!
My boss brought approximately two pints of Nestle’s new Heaven Belgian Bliss ice cream for my flatmate - who does not like chocolate ice cream. Who doesn’t like chocolate icream?! Not me. Which is….

The Purpose-Driven Warmongering →
You know the book The Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren? I never started reading past the first page of the book because I hated how my life should be centered around God. I’ve accomplished all that I have so far without a single prayer!
I’m posting this because I believe that whenever you are focused with following a single religion/faith, you become blindly narrow-minded. To me,...

Apple built the iPod-iTunes-iTunes Store ecosystem and they’re doing it again with the iPhone. It’s just disappointing to see that the likes of Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia still don’t seem to get this.
Inovent and their Ilumina iTV: Shedding Real Light
Yuga and Dennis Posadas have both covered Inovent’s Ilumina iTV online and I can’t help but question the viability of such a product. The response of commenters and the writers’ impressions seems to be over the top considering the current economic slump. Let me point it out.
1) They built it out of a bunch of spare PC parts and a Linux distro. Any guy out there with enough basic...
Starbucks Opening on Dec. 9 in Bacolod City!
This is great news. I believe this is the first branch outside of Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and the 2 highways in Luzon. They are even planning on opening 2 more. Krispy Kreme is also rumoured to set up shop there.
This means two things for me.
1) It signifies the burgeoning economy in my hometown; and 2) local businesses should beef up to compete with global companies.
The influx of BPO...

On Iraq, Obama has frequently been praised for his “principled opposition” to the war. In reality, as he has made clear, his opposition has been entirely unprincipled throughout. The war, he said, is a “strategic blunder.”...
