Smarter ladies have worse sex →
Anyone care to argue with the findings? Looking at some of the comments in the Digg article it was posted on, I have to agree with some of them. If women are busy trying to get ahead of men in life (careerwomen) then they do spend less time with the opposite sex and thus spend less time having sex. However, stupid women also tend to cheat(maybe because they’re more horny? think of sex more...

Dual Class Shares
I learned something interesting today. It’s on dual-class shares. Dual-class shares are shares that give founding managers or investors a different kind of stock that allows voting control even though they don’t own a majority of the total shares. Most in the tech industry do not use this type of share, however, Google does. Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt use their share to...
My Own Web Analytics
Today is the day I’m assigned to do web analytics. It’s akin to Google Analytics. My plan of action: 1. Install Piwik. It’s an open source web analytics suite made with PHP. However, I’m only going to use the javascript code supplied and the server to capture user data. I won’t be using their analytical front end. 2. Hook the javascript to some website and start...

Way to go Greenpeace. The big question now is: why should we keep up with this global warming nonsense when we could focus on issues that have high short term benefits and low long term costs?

Timebombs & Humanity's Lifespan
The complex global capitalist and free trade system is taking it’s toll on everyone especially the poor. This results in what “experts” would call timebombs. The rise in population, shift to biofuels and export bans all contribute to the most popular timebomb this year: food crisis. Second timebomb waiting to go off: US recession. While some argue that the US is already in a...

Hooray for Startups!
Earlier I posted about civilization going into an age wherein people have to have a variety of skillsets. During the industrial revolution and after that which is the industrial age, people had to have few skills hence the quote: “Jack of all trades, master of none.” In other words, if you knew too many skills during the industrial era, you wouldn’t succeed. However, the...

My Take on The Forbidden Kingdom
I just watched the highly anticipated movie, The Forbidden Kingdom. It stars martial arts superstars Jackie Chan (Rush Hour series) and Jet Li (Fearless). The movie was fairly light considering it was very action-oriented. The fight sequences weren’t as heavy (just bruises on the actors) so it wasn’t that intense. The story is pretty much straightfoward, but the charisma of the actors...
