QlikView People are (Secretly) Mac Users
QlikView runs on Windows ONLY. So after I demoed our thesis in front of people, it turned out (they revealed it to me) that two of the higher ups in QlikView for UK and Asia-Pacific were using Macs at home, but use Windows when working with QlikView. And yeah, QlikView is coming to the iPhone. ;)

Money Transfer Analytics as QlikView Demo App
I forgot to mention that after I demoed the Money Transfer Analytics (MTA), one of the senior consultants at QlikTech International wanted to make MTA an official QlikView demo application. That would involve making sure that MTA works smoothly with no hitches and that I would have to scramble the data and ensure that the school is properly informed (maybe even official permission). Hopefully it...

Singapore Day 2,3 and 4
The last 3 days was some very intensive training for me. QlikTech’s many experts (from the UK, Netherlands, Middle-East, Southeast Asia, Asia-Pacific) in sales, technical, research and development spoke to all of us on how to sell, how to make proof-of-concepts, how to implement QlikView and, how to close deals. Years of knowledge and sales experience was transferred to me in 3 days. Day 1...

Singapore Day 1
I arrived in Singapore and the first thing I have to get used to is that everything is reversed. Driver’s seat in taxis, escalators.. pretty much everything else. After a hawker lunch we immediately hit Sim Lim Square and I bought myself a nice Seagate 500GB USB 2.0 hard disk for about 4.8k pesos. Great deal if you ask me since it’s made by Seagate and it comes with a 5 year...

I Can't Believe I Just Recommended Sarah Geronimo
My boss sms’d me about recommending an OPM artist for their friend who’s going to China. It turns out my boss’ friend is being asked to bring CDs of OPM artists for a supplier there. Since I recently read about Rico Maierhoffer’s (is that even spelled right?) “love” for Sarah Geronimo in FHM Philippines, she was the first thing to pop into my mind. And I’m...

Inequality Makes the Internet Dirty; Advancing It...
This hit me while I was rating for Lionbridge. As the world moves to Web 2.0 tech such as blogs with features such as tagging and with more websites making it relatively easy to make your own homepage, the level and kind of internet access available to the other end of socio-economic spectrum is making the internet a dirty place. By “level and kind” I’m talking about the way...

Why iPhone Games Will Rule
The iPhone’s processor thinks almost twice as fast as the Sony PSP’s brain. Its touchscreen is more responsive than the Nintendo DS’s, recognizing subtle finger taps, pinches, and spreads. The three-axis accelerometer, like the one in the Wiimote, could replace the thumbstick — Sega has already exploited this ability for an iPhone port of Super Monkey Ball. Wi-Fi could make...

Spend or Invest
From an economic perspective and based on what the granddaddy of Economics (Adam Smith) said, it’s either we spend or we invest. I don’t believe in Savings because my money doesn’t work. Why I chose a Career in Business Intelligence
My friend mentioned the difference about a career and a job so I thought I’d talk more about what I’ve recently decided… to work for FutureProof Asia as a Pre-Sales Consultant Specialist.
